How to set up your HD Telecom eSIM on iPhone and Android
Last updated:
Once you have paid for your eSIM order, HD Telecom sends you an email with a QR code and your own setup details. This page shows you how to install it by scanning the QR code if you have two devices, how to enter the details manually if you only have one phone, and how to fix common problems.
Before you start
Connect to stable WiFi: your phone needs internet access to download the eSIM.
Make sure your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked: see Check your phone.
Have the HD Telecom email with the QR code open and ready.
Each QR code can only be used once. After installing, do not delete the eSIM from your phone.
Install with the QR code (if you have 2 devices)
Open the email on another device (a computer, tablet or second phone), then use the phone you are setting up to scan the QR code on that screen.

Install manually if you only have 1 phone
Below the QR code, the email usually shows your SM-DP+ address and activation code. Use these two lines instead of scanning the code. If the email has an Open eSIM setup guide button, tap it on the phone you are setting up: the page that opens has the codes ready, each with a copy button. If you cannot find these two lines, message our support team.

Android: go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM and choose Enter activation code (or tap Need help? and enter it manually). Many Android phones have just one field: enter it as LPA:1$SM-DP+-address$activation-code, which combines the two lines from the email. After installing the eSIM
If your phone has another SIM, choose the HD Telecom eSIM for Cellular Data (Mobile Data).
Turn on Cellular Data (Mobile Data).
Check the Data Roaming setting: some eSIM plans need it turned on before they can connect. If you are not sure whether your plan needs it, message our support team.
If you have signal but still cannot get online, your phone may need APN settings for your plan. Message our support team and they will send you the correct APN settings.
Common problems
Your phone says the eSIM cannot be added: check your WiFi connection and try again. Each QR code can only be used once; a code that has already been installed cannot be scanned again.
Signal but no internet: check that you chose the eSIM for Cellular Data (Mobile Data) and that data is turned on. If it still does not work, contact support so we can check your APN.
Deleted the eSIM by mistake: contact support to have your eSIM profile reissued.
Switching to a new phone: an eSIM does not move to a new phone automatically. Contact support before you delete the eSIM from your old phone to get an eSIM profile for your new phone.
